About Skill Based Volunteering for Teams

Pull together a team, provide us with a space and we will deliver a 3-4 hour workshop that will teach you new skills, connect you to community and make a tangible difference in the life of someone that hasn’t had the opportunities and possibilities as you.

For more than 20 years organisations have supported and promoted participating in JUNO’s Mock Interview Workshops as part of their corporate volunteering activities.

As the period of unemployment lengthens, a job seeker’s confidence drops. During the same period if the number of rejections increases, the pace of the job search slows, and interview opportunities dry up.

For many of our disadvantaged community members we see a pattern of self-isolation sets in and the ability to sell themselves in a professional setting gets increasingly stressful. To aid us in getting job seekers ready for the ‘real thing’ JUNO facilitates ‘mock’ interview workshops to help people learn how to jump the interview hurdle. Some aspects of successful job search can be learnt in the training room. However, the only way to improve at interviews is to have interviews.

Typically, the workshops take place on site at the organisation’s premises, or virtually, and require the engagement of approx. 10-15 volunteers. If you are interested in hosting one of these monthly workshops, please contact us to discuss.

Our programs are supporting organisational change through developing groups of individuals to work with purpose, to take responsibility beyond their formal authority, and to provide them with the skills, capacity and resiliency to operate and thrive in challenging and uncertain environments.

Our experiences are immersive, people are invited to come into the program as learners, not experts, and to be open to having their values questioned and challenged. In an environment of stark contrast with the structures and demands that pervade most of our everyday working lives, the program provides participants with a good opportunity to remove the masks and be open, generous, adventurous and vulnerable.

Can I invite other people to volunteer as an interviewer or do they have to register?

We love seeing new people come and join us in our monthly skilled volunteering workshops. We have started doing things a bit difference, post COVID, so most workshops have moved to a ‘Hosted’ model designed for small groups (as opposed to individuals) however we will be running some digital workshops so there will still be opportunities for al.
